Childs Play
WENDY ASTBURY
Wendy brings over 17 years experience in paediatrics to her position as the principal physiotherapist of Child’s Play Physiotherapy. Her commitment to paediatric physiotherapy began during her time at the University of Queensland where she graduated with Honours following a research thesis on the development of hand control in young children.
After graduating, Wendy worked in a variety of paediatric hospital settings in both Australia and the UK before joining the Rehabilitation Service at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Brisbane. This work was extremely rewarding and cemented Wendy’s passion for assisting children with neurological and developmental difficulties to achieve their best possible physical outcome. After beginning a family of her own, Wendy began Child’s Play Physiotherapy, a private practice for children to cater for the physiotherapy and physical needs of the developing child. This has allowed her to develop interests in other areas of paediatric physiotherapy, including orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions.
Wendy is a lifelong Clayfield local who now juggles a thriving practice with the family commitments of raising three young boys.
Wendy supports the Virginia Tigers Football Club.
